Inspired by a chrysanthemum fossil, seen in the photos, these lapis oval stones are combined with a floral patterned strip of silver reminiscent of chrysanthemum's florets. The top grade lapis stones are rose cut and show flashes of golden pyrite in their deep blue. Gold is fused to the silver using an ancient Korean technique of keum boo. Chrysanthemums generally symbolize longevity, fidelity, joy and optimism.
🔹SIZE: earrings are 7/8 inch wide and the earring drop is 2 inches. Rose cut lapis stones are 12 x 16mm. Sterling silver ear wires.
🔹WHAT IS KEUM BOO: an ancient Korean technique in which pure silver (.999) is heated to around 700 degrees and then 24kt gold is burnished/rubbed into the surface of the silver.
